How we work is guided by our core values.
Our Code of Conduct defines our basic principles of business conduct, incorporating and embracing the Core Values representing the pillars upon which the Company stands. We deliver annual training to help our workforce understand the Code of Conduct and how it applies at Sims Limited.
We also have issued our Supplier Code of Conduct which communicates to our partners in our supply chain the standards of ethical behaviour that we expect.
Committed to Transparency
Being a trusted partner to our communities is one of the pillars in our sustainability strategy. Transparent disclosure is a key mechanism for building and maintaining that trust. Sims Limited produced our first sustainability report in 2013, and we voluntarily committed to a climate advisory vote in 2022.
Our disclosure suite includes our annual report, sustainability report, and modern slavery statement; as well as the disclosures we make in accordance with law and regulation in each region.
One of America’s Most Responsible Companies
In 2023 Sims Limited was proud to be featured on Newsweek’s list of America’s Most Responsible Businesses for the third year in a row. The list highlights companies that are leaders in environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) practices. Newsweek partnered with Statista to evaluate the top 2,000 U.S.-based public companies by revenue on key corporate responsibility indicators including: environmental stewardship, workforce and leadership diversity, community impact, disclosure and transparency, and economic performance, among other factors
Ethics & Compliance Hotline
Anyone can use Sims Limited’s Hotline to report serious workplace/business situations, breaches of Company policy or incidents that cannot be resolved locally. This independent and confidential hotline is available to everyone, including employees, customers, suppliers, visitors and shareholders. Reports can be filed in many languages and via telephone, web or mobile device. Refer to our Whistleblower Policy for more information on what to expect as a reporter, our investigation process, and our commitment to protect those who report from retaliation.
